Hochfilzen is considered to be the home of biathlon and hosts the Biathlon World Championships at the beginning of December every year. The cross-country trails in Hochfilzen are located at approx. 1,000 metres and reliably have very good snow cover. The entrance to this trail is approx. 30 minutes by car from Maria Alm.
